FAQ

  1. Where will the freshmen weekend be held?
    • The freshmen weekend will be held at an external location in the province of Brabant, in the south of the Netherlands. We will stay there for the whole weekend. Accommodation, food, and transport to and from this location will be provided, so you don’t have to worry about having a place to sleep or eat!
  2. What time will the freshmen weekend start on the 13th of August?
    • All freshmen are expected to be present in Delft in the morning on this date. You will be brought back to Delft on the 16th of August, in time for the start of the OWee.
  3. I’m an international student and coming from abroad, when should I be in Delft?
    • It can be quite the hassle to move over all your stuff to Delft. As the weekend starts quite early on the 13th of August, you can arrive in Delft by Wednesday, August 12th at the latest. However, it can be nice to settle a bit before starting the freshmen weekend, so it is recommended to arrive in Delft on August 11th, or before.
  4. I signed up, when will I receive more information about the program and schedule of the freshmen weekend?
    • You will receive more information after the signups close. We will send everyone an email towards the beginning of August.
  5. What is the difference between the OWee and the freshmen weekend?
    • The OWee is an introduction to Delft, and it is meant for all upcoming TUDelft students. The freshmen weekend is an introductory weekend meant for all upcoming Aerospace students. During the OWee you will get to know the student associations of Delft, the main goal of the freshmen weekend is for you to get to know other Aerospace students.
  6. Is it an issue if I can’t be present all days of the freshmen weekend?
    • Please contact us in case you cannot join the entire weekend to see what the best solution would be. In any case, it is recommended to join the full weekend as it will be full of exciting activities, and integration with your fellow freshmen!
  7. Is the freshmen weekend also meant for exchange- or Masterstudents?
  8. What will I need to take with me on the weekend?
  • A packlist will be sent to you in June/July, everything you need will be on that list

9.  Do I need a bike for the weekend?

  • A bike is needed on thursday morning since you will explore Delft. Bringing you own bike is recommended, since the rental bikes (OV-fietsen) at the station are in short supply.
